How to Use the AwardTravel Extension

AwardTravel is the first-ever browser extension for GoogleFlights that gives you the cost in points for each flight. Here's how to use it.

"Travel is the only thing you'll buy that makes you richer"

Now, imagine that richness not ever costing you more than $5.60. That's the beauty of Award Travel - a smart way to use your credit card points and airline miles for virtually free travel.

If you're anything like me, you've probably seen those flashy credit card ads promising thousands of points just for signing up. But they rarely explain how to actually use those points for free trips. Think about it; it makes sense they don't want to make it easy for you to use them, because when you use your points, that's less money for the big bank. That's where we step in with AwardTravel. Our mission? To make those points & miles work for you in the simplest way possible, helping you explore the world without emptying your wallet.

You see, there's a whole world of 'travel gurus' out there. They'll show you how to squeeze every ounce of value from your points for luxurious business and first-class experiences. But let's be real - most of us are just looking for a nice getaway. A relaxing trip with friends, a romantic escape, or a simple journey home for the holidays without breaking the bank. That's what really matters, right?

If this rings a bell, you're in the perfect spot. We're here to guide you through the maze of points and miles, ensuring you get the most out of them for the trips you truly care about.

AwardTravel aims to give you the tools you need to find and book travel using your points & miles. Our first product is a Google Chrome Extension for Google Flights that displays the cost to use your points & miles alongside every flight. As mentioned before, part of our mission is to make it as simple as possible for you to travel using your points & miles, and what better way to keep things simple than building a tool that works alongside your favorite search engine.

Installing the AwardTravel Extension

In order to start using AwardTravel, you're first going to need to create an account. Signing up for an account is free, and takes under 30 seconds to get started. Once you sign up, we'll walk you through instructions on how to install the browser extension and get started with your first search.

Please note that currently, AwardTravel only works with Google Chrome. We're working on adding support Safari & Microsoft Edge over the coming weeks.

Using the AwardTravel Extension

Once you're all set up with an account, and have installed the extension to your browser, you can search Google Flights normally.

Step 1: Go to google.com/flights

Search for the route and date(s) you want directly on Google Flights

Step 2: See Points Prices

See the cost in points along with the cash price directly in Google Flights

Step 3: Book Directly With The Airline

Once you find the flight you want, we'll give you the option (and direct link) to book directly with the airline

Step 4: Rinse and Repeat!

That was easy! If you have any suggestions on how we can make the process even better, please let us know!

Currently, in V1.1.4, the AwardTravel product has some limitations (you can read about them here), but we're working to fix them for the next version. We hope you find this tool as useful as we do!
